Jimmy Landry

Singer-songwriter and pianist Jimmy Landry crafts music that blends soulful storytelling with groove-driven musicianship. Fans who appreciate the expansive jams of Widespread Panic, the expressive piano work of Bruce Hornsby, the soulful spirit of Chris Robinson Brotherhood, and the eclectic honesty of Tea Leaf Green will feel right at home in Landry’s sound. His songs are rooted in piano but stretch outward with guitar, saxophone, and rich, soulful lyrics—creating an engaging and dynamic musical experience.

Landry grew up in Kinston, North Carolina, where he began studying classical piano at an early age. After five years of classical training, he expanded into jazz studies under respected musician Tom Coppola, whose career includes work with Paul Simon on Heart and Bones and years composing music for Saturday Night Live. This combination of classical discipline and jazz exploration helped shape Landry’s distinctive musical voice.

Before fully committing to life as a performing musician, Landry lived a wide-ranging life that deeply influences his songwriting. He served in the U.S. Army, spent time teaching English in South Korea, and earned a Master’s Degree in International Studies from East Carolina University. These experiences—traveling, teaching, and immersing himself in different cultures—bring a global perspective and thoughtful introspection to his music.

Landry released his debut album, New Day, in 2008, followed by Sing Your Own Song in 2016, both showcasing his piano-driven songwriting and genre-blending style. A third album of original material is scheduled for release in June 2026, continuing his evolution as both a songwriter and performer.
